Some of the most enduring images of Americana were born in the rural Midwest. But lostness in the Midwest is surprisingly high at 75 percent and evangelical churches are scare. Some 400 years ago, the Northeast was the Bible Belt. Today it is less Christian than some third-world nations. At least 82 percent of the 66.5 million people who live in the Northeast are lost. And only one Southern Baptist Church exists for every 37,788 people. Church planters in the Northeast recognize the potential of reaching this influential region. Welcome to the Northeast.

The West is filled with people who have no connection to religion. Almost nine out of 10 people have no relationship with Jesus Christ. More churches for more people equals more opportunities for them to hear about Jesus. Church plants in the West desperately need strong, established churches to partner with them. Welcome to the West.

The same missions heart that propelled Southern Baptists to reach other parts of North America at the outset of our denomination still exists today. In order to engage the most unreached regions of North America, churches in the South are needed to come alongside church planters in the Northeast, West, Midwest and Canada.
