Missionaries invest themselves in engaging people with the gospel and planting new churches in the under-reached and underserved regions of North America. NAMB missionaries serve primarily through two broad categories:

     aocpmChurch Planting Missionaries

These include church planters, church planting team members, church planting catalysts guiding efforts throughout an association or region, lay missionaries who relocate to an area to assist with a church plant, and a variety of other roles focused on evangelistic church planting.

     aoesmEvangelism Specialist Missionaries

These are missionaries whose primary role is sharing Christ in the context of serving others—whether in a inner-city mission center, resort settings, food distribution, teaching individuals how to read, or any number of other ministry evangelism activities. Their work is related to church planting efforts or to connect people with the local church.

    Multiple Paths to Service

We recognize that in order to significantly scale our efforts to penetrate lostness in North America we are going to need many more missionaries starting churches and reaching people for Christ than Southern Baptists could support financially. So part of the Send North America strategy is to mobilize and equip individuals in a variety of ways.

    Chaplaincy aochap

Chaplains serve in a broad variety of settings, including the military, hospitals, corporations, prisons, disaster relief response and law enforcement. Chaplains are either self-funded or paid by the organization they serve. NAMB provides training and pastoral care support—as well as the formal denominational endorsement required by organizations that employ chaplains. More >
