God’s Judgment - June 24, 2009
“The Lord will send upon you curses, confusion, and rebuke . . . ” (Deut. 28:20, NASB).

Thursday, June 25 Seek understanding that if your life, church or nation is suffering from disease, famine, drought, defeat before your enemies, confusion, rebuke, etc., shows that you have broken covenant with God. Beg the Lord to help us understand how fatal it is not to return to Him when He is sending such discipline upon us.

But it shall come about, if you do not obey the Lord your God, to observe to do all His commandments . . . that all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you . . . The Lord will send upon you curses, confusion, and rebuke, in all you undertake to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly . . . because you have forsaken Me” (Deut. 28: 15-20, NASB).

Friday, June 26 – Thank God that before He judges He warns us by calling us to repent and return to Him. Ask Him to grant us leaders who understand the severity of His judgments in our land and to give them the courage to call us to repentance.

I have listened and heard, but they have not spoken aright; no man repents of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? Everyone turns to his [individual] course, as the horse rushes like a torrent into battle” (Jer. 8:6, AMP).

Saturday, June 27 – Plead for grace to know His judgments and to recognize His voice in them. Ask Him to help us answer His intention for His judgments by repenting of our sins against Him.

“Even the stork in the sky knows her seasons, and the turtle dove and  the swift and the thrush observe the time of their migration; But my people do not know the ordinance of the LORD” (Jer. 8:7, NASB).

Sunday, June 28 – Implore the Lord to grant us ministers who are gifted with discernment to correctly interpret His discipline and to help the people understand the great consequences of disobedience.

“How can you say, We are wise, and we have the written law of the Lord [and are learned in its language and teachings]? Behold, the truth is, the lying pen of the scribes has made of the law a falsehood . . . “ (Jer. 8:8, AMP).

Monday, June 29 – Beseech the Lord to enable us to understand that He expects us to make the connection between what is happening in our nation and His voice calling us to return to Him. Ask Him to open our ears to hear what He is saying through our circumstances.

"’But I gave you . . .  lack of bread . . .  I withheld the rain from you . . . I smote you with scorching wind and mildew . . . I sent a plague among you . . . I slew your young men by the sword . . . Yet you have not returned to Me,’ declares the LORD" (Amos 4:6-10, NASB).

Tuesday, June 30 Beg God to enable us to understand that when we provoke Him by our sin how utterly consuming His judgments are. Ask Him to help us take to heart the calamities of our country and churches due to our sin.

"’I will surely snatch them away,’ declares the LORD; ‘There will be no grapes on the vine and no figs on the fig tree, and the leaf will wither; and what I have given them will pass away’” (Jer. 8:13, NASB).

Wednesday, July 1 – Ask God to shake us from our fleshly confidences and the flattering of ourselves that we are right with Him when His judgments are all around us. Beg God to enable us to submit to the judgments.

“When I would comfort myself against sorrow, my heart is faint in me . . . Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, and with strange vanities?” (Jer. 8:18-19, KJV).
