Resurgence Of Prayer – October 28, 2009
“ . . . It is time to seek the Lord” (Hosea 10:12, AMP).

Thursday, October 29 - Entreat the Lord to show you any apathy to what He requires of you. Seek Him in His grace to soften any hardness of heart and to break up any barriers He sees that keep His Word from penetrating your heart and bearing its fruit. Ask Him to quicken and awaken in His church a greater desire to seek Him.

“Sow for yourselves according to righteousness . . . reap according to mercy and loving-kindness. Break up your uncultivated ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, to inquire for and of Him, and to require His favor, till He comes and teaches you righteousness and rains His righteous gift of salvation upon you” (Hos. 10:12, AMP).

Friday, October 30 Beg God to work in our hearts to grant us repentance for turning away from Him, His ways, and purposes. Ask Him to do whatever is necessary to cause us to WILL to earnestly seek Him.

“ . . . If you seek Him [inquiring for and of Him, craving Him as your soul’s first necessity], He will be found by you; but if you [become indifferent and] forsake Him, He will forsake you” (2 Chron. 15:2, AMP).

Saturday, October 31 Implore the Lord who fashions the heart to enable us to seek Him wholeheartedly.

“And he did evil because he did not set his heart to seek (inquire of, yearn for) the Lord with all his desire” (2 Chron. 12:14, AMP).

Sunday, November 1 Beseech the Lord who is omniscient and omnipotent to empower us to pray for those who are His instruments of discipline and cry for help without fainting in whatever circumstances He allows us to face. Ask Him to help us understand that searching for Him with all our hearts requires a cry for help from one who is closely related and committed to Him.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jer. 29:11-13, KJV).

Monday, November 2 Entreat the Lord to help His people in North America to seek His face by earnestly crying for His help, confessing our sins, and returning to Him. Ask Him to fill our hearts with His thoughts that we would cry for the specific actions He desires as we pray for revival.

“If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land” (2 Chron. 7:14, AMP).

Tuesday, November 3 Pray and ask the Lord to help us intentionally and determinedly be devoted to Him and His purposes, and to seek His kingdom and His righteousness above all things.

“But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides” (Matt. 6:33, AMP).

Wednesday, November 4 Beg God to teach us that to neglect prayer shows we are not seeking Him. Ask Him to empower our cries for help with a persevering fervency that will not quit as we pray for revival and awakening in North America.

“Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you” (Matt. 7:7; AMP).
