Prayer Connection - March 4, 2009

Dear Beloved Intercessor,

This is the Annie Armstrong Week of Prayer for North American Missions. I hope that your church is taking advantage of this emphasis on praying for and giving to missions this spring. See the link on the left for more information and resources.

Wednesday, March 4 has been designated as the Day of Prayer for Revival and Spiritual Awakening. Join praying Christians across North America, asking God to send a revival spirit, waking up His bride to return to Him in repentance and restoration. See link on left for brochure. God is calling us; Let us pray!

“Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready” (Rev. 19:7, NASB).

Thank you for praying and for being on the NAMB prayer team. Be sure to see the difference prayer made in KALEO in the “God at work” story.

For God's glory,
Elaine Helms

Weekly Prayer Focus for March 4 – A View of His Sovereignty

A true recognition of God’s sovereignty humbles as nothing else does or can humble, and brings the heart into lowly submission before God, causing us to relinquish our own self-will and making us delight in the perception and performance of the Divine will.” –A. W. Pink

Scripture
I saw the Lord sitting on a throne” (Isa. 6:1, NASB).

Prayer
Father, grant us godly sorrow that leads to repentance for our forgetting who You are, and grant us a fresh view of You as the Sovereign Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Featured Article:   KALEO: Alabama ’09 Bathed in Prayer

The eighth KALEO event had an advantage over the previous seven, the daily prayers of believers lifting up KALEO before the Lord. God’s blessing was upon the event, not because of the planning, the attendance, or even those on the program, but because He answered the prayers that had been prayed.

NAMB Prayer Requests

Please pray for Jimmy Kinnaird, NAMB Personal Evangelism Resource Coordinator. He is completing a new relational evangelism resource to help believers better share the gospel in all their relationships. Pray for God’s guidance as the resource is finished. Pray for wisdom and discernment as the printed and video pieces are edited and sent to print or duplication. Pray for this to be used by God to inspire believers to intentional relational evangelism.

Please pray for local churches in San Diego as they reach out to their communities to assist seniors, military residents, and youth (through tutoring, mentoring, and foster care ministry) for six months during Faith in Action Xtreme, beginning Easter 2009. Pray that God would provide strong and fruitful partnerships with local agencies and national partners and that many would be served in Jesus’ name and come to know the Savior.

Danny is a multi-housing church planter for the Pioneer Association in Charleston. Praise God for the success of the new ministry at Lee Terrace. Pray for a new Bible study at Jenna Way Landing in Sissionville and for developing new leadership.

Donald King wrote from the KALEO conference in Alabama: “What a awesome opening night! Hearing so many students singing praises to God was a moving experience for me personally. I had several conversations with student leaders and parents immediately after the opening session and heard them say how “blown away” they were by the intensity of the opening session alone. I can’t wait for them to immerse themselves in today’s sessions. It’s really going to be exciting!”

“Thank you for being such a valuable part of the KALEO experience in Alabama. Your support, notes of encouragement and prayerful intercession has undergirded a valuable resource for the Southern Baptist Convention – not an event, but an investment in the lives of emerging leaders. Many of these young people will soon be the pastors in our pulpits, educators in our Baptist schools and seminaries, ministers in our churches and missionaries in North America and around the world.”

“One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts.”  (Psalm 145:4, NASB).

Please pray for new believers who have committed their lives to Christ recently through the Evangelism Response Center (ERC) of the North American Mission Board.
