Prayer Connection - June 9, 2009
Dear Beloved Intercessor,
Have you ever been around someone who inspired you to share your faith because they shared theirs so effortlessly and as a natural way of life? We had the pleasure of being with such a person at the recent missionary training and commissioning in Savannah, and we’re sharing his story about what he saw God do at the Kansas Riverfest in May.
We all need to become contagious and share Jesus with everyone we meet. It starts with praying for the lost and caring about their eternal destination. One of the best ways to jump into the water of sharing your faith is to participate with an Intentional Community Evangelism (ICE) team. You can contact Victor Benavides vbenavides@namb.net for more information.
“For we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20, NASB).
Thank you for praying and for being on the NAMB prayer team.
For God's glory,
Elaine Helms

God at Work Story: Riverfest 2009
Have you ever sung a hymn and found yourself singing it again and again but not really focusing and paying attention to the words of the song? Then one day - BAM! You’re singing that song and the Holy Spirit nails you. The words of the song and the Spirit overcome you to the point of tears, and for the first time in your life you really get the meaning of the song.
Other Prayer Requests

GOVERNMENT PRAYER SUNDAY – June 28, 2009 - The National House of Prayer in Ottawa is partnering with Nation at Prayer to encourage churches and individuals from every part of the nation to take part in this annual national prayer initiative. June 28, is a day set apart for churches of all denominations across Canada to dedicate a portion of their Sunday morning church service to specifically pray for Canada and at least one elected governmental leader.

Mark Lydecker, Collegiate Coordinator with Student/Collegiate Evangelism, asks that we pray for 38 students being ‘parachuted’ into downtown Chicago to do outreach for 10 weeks this summer. Pray that they can make great contacts which give insight into the neighborhoods, result in people coming to Christ, and in the formation of new churches. Pray also for students to be developed in their walk with the Lord as they learn to be missionaries.
2010 OLYMPIC/PARALYMPICS Vancouver/Whistler – ASK that the spiritual aroma of Vancouver/Whistler will change as a result of the prayers and love shared with the local communities and visitors from around the world. PRAY that the evangelistic resources that are being worked on will be completed soon. PRAY for the availability of housing for mission teams and volunteers. ASK that donated items for hospitality kits will continue to arrive. For more information contact Kevin Sigsby at ksigsby@yahoo.com

Continue to pray for Faith in Action Xtreme that began with Easter 2009. Pray that churches in San Diego would “seek the welfare” of San Diego County in prayer. And that they would rise to obey God’s direction, serving together to address San Diego County’s greatest needs. Visit www.visionsandiego.com for more information.
