Prayer Connection - September 15, 2009
Dear Beloved Intercessor,
Do you know any "special-interest" people groups living in North America that need to hear the good news of Jesus Christ? Is there a gang, a terrorist group, a homosexual club, or other affinity group in your area that seems too difficult for Christ to reach? Remember how big, powerful, loving and compassionate our God is, and how irresistible He can be in wooing a lost soul to Jesus. With belief, pray those impossible prayers for the souls of the most unlikely and watch expectantly for God to change their lives (see Matt. 19:26, Luke 1:37, Eph.3:20-21).
Our creative God, who made us in His image, gives us creativity to reach the seemingly unreachable. We are sharing an exciting story about how the Dakota Baptist Convention reaches out when the huge Sturgis Bikers Rally is held in their state. They don’t shrink back; they get into the thick of it and seek ways to share Jesus with the bikers. The response is encouraging and cumulative—those who were saved at a past rally returned this year to share their new faith with fellow bikers.
“For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Cor. 1:18, NASB)

Thanks for praying with the NAMB prayer team, and for sharing what God is doing in your area.
For God's glory,
Elaine Helms

Weekly Prayer Focus – Prayer and Oneness
“The idea of prayer is not in order to get answers from God; prayer is perfect and complete oneness with God . . . Have you reached such an intimacy with God that the Lord Jesus Christ's life of prayer is the only explanation of your life of prayer?” -Oswald Chambers
Scripture
“That they all may be one . . . ” (John 17:21, KJV)
Prayer
Forgive us, O Lord, for not cultivating a love relationship with You. Bring us into deeper intimacy with You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
