Prayer Connection - October 13, 2009

Dear Beloved Intercessor,

Remembering history gives wisdom about traps to avoid, inspiring obedience. Likewise, memory lapses make us forget what God has done in the past, causing disobedience. That’s why He tells us to remember and tell the next generation all the mighty wonders He has done. (See Ps.77:11, 106:13-15.) All the saber- rattling we hear, trying to unnerve us, is from a defeated foe, the devil “seeking someone to devour.” Stand firm!

Remember Elijah, one prophet against 450 prophets of Baal, saw a landslide victory for God almighty! The followers of Baal suddenly had their eyes opened in 1 Kings 18:39 and all they could say was, “The Lord, He is God; the Lord, He is God.” Pray for those so set against our God in our day to be just so quickly enlightened. Jesus taught us in Matthew 5:44,”Love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you.” When they know Jesus, they won’t be our enemies! See the article, “History Repeats Itself.”

“I am the Lord, and there is no other; Besides me there is no God . . .Listen to Me, you stubborn-minded, who are far from righteousness. I bring near My righteousness, it is not far off; and My salvation will not delay” (Isa. 45:5, 46:12-13, NASB).

Thank you for praying and for being on the NAMB prayer team.

For God's glory,
Elaine Helms

Prayer
Lord, restore us and bless us with Your favor. Give us a resurgence of “prayer, discipleship, and of being like Jesus,” that we meet Your conditions for experiencing a resurgence of the Great Commission. In Jesus’ name, amen.
