  • When Gallup News asked what the Top Priorities should be for Congress and America, the response was:
    • 64% (total) of those surveyed agreed that the situation in Iraq/War is the top priority
      • 60% of white frequent church goers agreed
      • 68% of white infrequent church goers disagreed
    • 1% (total) of those surveyed agreed that Medicare should be a top priority
      • 1% of white frequent church goers agreed
      • 2% of white infrequent church goers disagreed
    • 2% of religious whites think that gay rights should be the government's top priority
      • Only 1% mention abortion
      • Only 1% mention ethical and moral decline
  • Nine percent of the religious whites who favor the Republicans worry about a Democratic-controlled Congress becoming too liberal
    • 7% are worried about abortion becoming more acceptable
    • 6% worry about a general moral decline if the Democrats win
    • 4% are worried about gay rights legislation
