Gulf Coast Long-term Rebuild 2006

NEW ORLEANS—J. J. Grey, Denver, squeegees the ground floor of Edgewater Baptist Church, one of thousands of buildings damaged or destroyed following flooding caused by Hurricane Katrina. Grey and other volunteers from Denver's Riverside Baptist Church (www.riversidebaptist.com) were doing final mold and mildew removal before rebuild begins on Edgewater Baptist Church. Since landfall, besides church repairs Southern Baptists have performed free labor at nearly 17,000 homes to remove downed trees, mud, and to cover damaged roofs (www.namb.net/dr).
