“Prayer is Not for the Timid of Heart”

Rev. Kil-Sun-Joo would never have been known except for his one odd habit, early morning prayer. Although he wrote several books, he was known for spending at least three hours a day in Bible study and one hour a day memorizing scripture. Rev. Kil-Sun-Joo, pastor of Central Presbyterian Church, is best known as the one who embedded early morning and all night prayer into the Korean Church and served as one of the sources for the outbreak of the 1907 Revival of Pyongyang (capital of then unified Korea and current capital of North Korea).

337 baptized at First Baptist Orlando

"People are going to die tonight."
Not quite the first words most congregations want to hear from their pastor. But that is what David Uth said as an introduction to "Not Ashamed," a three-service celebration of baptism at First Baptist Church in Orlando, Fla., June 27-28. In all, 337 people were baptized, including 10 at the church's Ocoee venue.
