| Blind Ministries
The three basic needs of blind persons are:
Acceptance- Characteristic to everyone is the need to be accepted. Relate warmly and caringly to blind persons as you do to others. Think of them not as blind persons, but as people who happen to be blind. There is a difference.
Friendship - Loneliness and isolation are disturbing emotions. Visit and spend time one-on-one. Offer to read to them their mail, newspapers, Sunday School lessons, or the Bible. Include them in social activities.
Transportation - Immobility is frightening and discouraging. Take blind persons for rides and describe the beauty of God's wonderful world. Offer to take them with you to church. If they accept, be punctual and reliable.
