Evangelism Coaching for Pastors

E-Coaching for Pastors is a new Process currently being piloted in select state conventions that is designed to help pastors grow to become more effective in their own personal evangelism and lead their church members to do likewise. The core tool of this process is the E-Coaching Small Group which is composed of a coaching pastor and three to five other pastors in covenant relationship with each other that functions primarily as a think-tank, and accountability group.

The E-Coaching Process is NOT a new method for evangelism. Existing and future specific evangelism techniques and programs like CWT, Total Church, The NET, or F.A.I.T.H. have a role in E-Coaching, but E-Coaching itself is not fundamentally a way of doing evangelism or programming for evangelism. It is, rather, a two-pronged strategy that (1) helps pastors do better and more frequently what they already know how to do and want to do but do not do, and (2) help pastors lead their congregations to grow in the practice of evangelism as well.
 

Participants in the E-Coaching Process should be highly motivated pastors who:

• Possess a passion to be more effective in their personal evangelism practices.
• Possess a passion to lead churches to reach and baptize lost people.
• Will keep a long-term commitment to participate in an E-Coaching Small Group.
• Will hold to high accountability for growth and results.

E-Coaching Catalytic Event. This is a one or two day (usu. Mon/Tues) interactive and intensive coaching session with selected pastors from one State Convention led by the NAMB Evangelism Group in cooperation with the State Convention staff. The session is designed to equip pastors to:

• Be the leader of a Spirit led movement of evangelism in their church.
• Evaluate the current status of evangelism effectiveness in their church.
• Research the unreached culture in their church field and discover a customized, biblical strategy for effective evangelism in that field.
• Begin a two-year journey of evangelism coaching with practical help, encouragement, and accountability from coaches and other pastors and leaders in an E-Coaching Small Group.

In preparation for the E-Coaching Catalytic Event all participants are encouraged to:

• Read one or more selections from the E-Coaching Recommended Reading List.
• Complete and submit an Evangelism Performance Questionnaire.
• Commit to an intensive time of prayer preparation, humility, and personal commitment to practice and lead others to practice evangelism.
