Laissez les bon news rouler

Many evangelistic and church planting/strengthening opportunities are available in Southeast Louisiana for volunteer teams to work with a local church in their efforts to reach their community for Christ.  These opportunities vary from church to church and community to community and may include events such as:

  • ICE Teams
  • FAITH Teams
  • Block Parties
  • Surveys
  • Sports Camps
  • Health Clinics
  • Prayer Walks
  • Festival Evangelism
  • Door-to-door witnessing
  • Home maintenance clinics
  • and so much more!

Learn how to enhance your rebuild project with low cost, minimal prep evangelistic events by requesting "Where Y'at: The Importance of Words Following Deeds" from the Operation NOAH Rebuild office.

Housing

Housing will be provided through Operation Noah Rebuild for a minimal fee.

Safety

Your team's safety is of utmost importance. Since Hurricane Katrina, close to 30,000 Southern Baptist volunteers have worked in the metropoloitcan area through disaster relief and Operation Noah Rebuild. No one has had a violent encounter. There are very few random acts of violence in the metropolitan area. Working in an urban environment, however, requires extra precautions such as locking cars and securing personal items. Two of the best things a group can do to help with safety are stay in groups and don't work in isolated areas after dark. Teams going to the Northshore can expect to work in suburban or rural environments. For additional information about working in disaster impacted areas, contact your state disaster relief director.
