April 20 Deadline for Summer Missionary Applications

A life-changing experience awaits high school and college students who commit to serve as summer missionaries and fulfill the "Send" commitment. Applications are being taken now until April 20. Opportunities include:

Sojourners - High school students who work with missionaries and churches in evangelism and church planting projects in the United States and Canada. Ministry settings vary from city to the beach. Sojourners serve with other student missionaries and/or career missionaries.

Summer Missionaries - Students who work to assist local churches, campus ministries, and NAMB missionaries with evangelism and church planting. Their work concentrates on helping in community ministries, ministering to teenagers, working with campus ministries, or assisting in church planting.

Innovators - Students who work at a secular job (usually 40 hours a week) while assisting local missionaries (8-10 hours a week) in evangelism and church planting. Supervision and mentoring are provided by the place of service.

If you know a student who would be interested in being a summer missionary, visit www.answerthecall.net or call 1 800 462-8657, ext. 6476, for more information.

Each Samaria Update highlights key Acts 1:8 Challenge Kingdom-growing responses to assist your church in fulfilling its Acts 1:8 Challenge commitment.

Prepare - Get Involved in Strategic Focus Cities

Now is an excellent time to get involved in the two newest Strategic Focus Cities, San Diego and Baltimore .

With the actual launch of the San Diego and Baltimore initiatives months away, your church can start now by praying for its part in assisting in these important efforts.

Your church can start by participating in numerous vision tours and other awareness events that will be conducted until the official launch of these two significant city-strengthening strategies.

Work to build infrastructure in the two cities is underway now, said Dave Howard, director of the Strategic Focus Cities Team at NAMB.

"We are very excited about their potential," said Howard, "and although these are two very different places, they share the strong desire to see God do a mighty work in their communities."

Howard said the partnership of churches across North America in Strategic Focus Cities efforts is critical.

"I hope you will pray for God to reveal how you and your church can engage either or both these cities in meaningful Christian service."

For more information about how your church can get involved, email sfc@namb.net or call 770-410-6572.

Go - Take a 'Family' Mission Trip in 2007

Have you ever thought it would be neat to take your family or families in your church on a mission trip together? Now you can through Families on Mission!

Families on Mission is a pre-packaged, week-long (Saturday through Thursday) mission opportunity that allows moms, dads, and grandparents to model an on mission lifestyle for their children and grandchildren.

In 2007, you can go to New Orleans or East St. Louis (sorry, Lynch, Kentucky, is already full) for a summer trip, or Mobile, Ala., for a fall trip for families that home school.

More details about Familes on Mission are available at www.namb.net/fom

Tell - Become a People Group Specialist

People Group Specialists (PGS) are a fundamental part of a long-term success of www.peoplegroups.info . Their role is to create a short-term people group identification strategy for their local area, as well as promote findings to appropriate audiences.

They include: Seattle, Wash., April 18-19; Alpharetta, Ga., May 3-4; Wheaton, Ill., May 16-17; Dallas, Texas, June 14-15; Richmond, Va., Sept. 20-21; New York, Oct. 18-19; and Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Nov. 16-17.
