Families on Mission
Summersville, West Virginia
The final 2008 Families on Mission project of the summer took place in Summersville, W.V., from July 19-24. More than 40 families represented approximately 140 participants of all ages. Peggy Colbert was the project coordinator. Families had meals, which were provided by Tennessee Disaster Relief, and worship each night at New River Baptist Church. Worship in Summersville was unique because it took place outside under a tent. The families really enjoyed this aspect of the project.
During the week, participants took part in several different ministry opportunities including Vacation Bible School, construction, and food and clothing distribution.
The gospel was shared many times, resulting in four known salvations. Also, on Wednesday night, three participants were baptized in the hotel pool.
