Ministry Projects: Families on Mission is providing families with the exciting opportunity to serve in Blue Ridge, Ga. Several mission opportunities will be coordinated in the area through the North American Mission Board and Claude Mathis, the director of missions of Morgantown and Mountaintop Baptist Associations, located in two north Georgia mountain counties, Gilmer and Fannin. The population of these counties is more than 50,000 people with 33 Southern Baptist churches.
Families will serve together in sports camps, Vacation Bible School and Backyard Bible Club, neighborhood surveys, block parties, light construction and painting, acts of kindness, nursing home visitation and singing, water bottle handout at the tourist excursion train, clothes sorting and distribution, and food sorting and distribution at Basin Crisis Center. These mission opportunities will allow families to build meaningful relationships with other families as they share the love of Christ and reach the lost through these small churches.
Housing: Families will stay in local motels in Blue Ridge.
Meals and Meetings: We will meet at a local church for evening meals, training sessions, and evening worship times. Breakfast will be at the hotel and sack lunches will be provided on ministry project days.
