Families on Mission
Ruston/Farmerville, Louisiana
July 11-16, 2009

Families on Mission provided families the exciting opportunity to serve in the rural setting of North Central Louisiana. Ministry projects were coordinated through the North American Mission Board and Barry Joyner, the Director of Missions for the Concord/Union Baptist Association. This part of Louisiana includes small towns and small churches. Many of the churches are in need of volunteers to help conduct Vacation Bible School and awareness events.

Participants worked to coordinate a Backyard Bible Club in a designated unreached area of Ruston. Families also worked with Rolling Hills Ministry and its director, David Abernathy, in sorting and distributing food, clothes, and furniture to those in need in North Louisiana. Construction and yard maintenance was also done at a local Baptist camp.
