Families on Mission
Columbiana (Birmingham), Alabama                                
July 18-23, 2009 

The North American Mission Board and Shelby Baptist Association coordinated a variety of mission projects around the area just south of Birmingham. Family participants worked with local Southern Baptist churches to minister to the lost and hurting people of Shelby County. Some of the mission projects were Vacation Bible School, Backyard Bible Clubs, light construction or painting, sports camps, block parties, food distribution, clothing distribution, and random acts of kindness. Highlights of the week were working with Camp Sunshine and Bible distribution and prayer at a local hospital.
