Go - 'Faith in Action Xtreme' San Diego
How can churches determine the biggest needs in their communities? The easiest answer: "Ask the people who know best."
In San Diego, pastors and leaders met with government officials over a period of several months, asking them two key questions:
1. What is your vision for a healthy city?
2. What are three impossible problems that keep you from fulfilling that vision?
After each leader spoke, we prayed for them in the specific areas they shared. We also continued an ongoing dialogue about how churches in San Diego can come alongside our leaders to meet needs in our city. The outcome: Faith in Action Xtreme, an effort to tackle five of those needs: Foster Care, Mentoring, Tutoring, Military and Elder Care.
For more information on each of the areas of impact, and how you and your church can help, contact Vision San Diego at (877) 817-4777 or go to www.visionsandiego.com/xtreme. While you’re there, check out the brand new Faith in Action Xtreme video.
Tell - God's Plan for Sharing in Your Church
With an estimated 250-plus million people in North America lost without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, wouldn't it be wonderful for Southern Baptists to share Christ with every person by the year 2020?
That's the goal of the new evangelism initiative of the North American Mission Board. Called simply "God's Plan for Sharing" (GPS), it encourages every believer to share the gospel to every person in North America by the year 2020.
GPS is designed to provide the tools to assist every believer and every church in fulfilling the Great Commission in North America. GPS is being launched in four languages—English, Korean, Chinese and Spanish. The initiative concentrates on four biblical markers: praying, engaging, sowing and harvesting.
Make plans now to lead your church in this Kingdom-impacting strategy today! Visit the official GPS website today for more information and resources.
