What is Great Commission Praying?

Prayer is foundational to following Christ's Commission in Matthew 28:18-20. Great Commission Praying keeps prayer as a priority to everything done in and through the life and ministry of every believer. It includes a comprehensive Great Commission Prayer strategy for local and global intercession.

Prayer Evangelism Team Purpose:

To lead each Southern Baptist church to develop a comprehensive plan to become a house of prayer.

Vision:

Our vision is for all SBC and CNBC churches to be on mission with Christ to pray for and share Jesus with every person in our sphere of influence.

Objectives:

1. To renew a personal passion for Jesus through praying unceasingly (1 Thess. 5:17)

2. To reclaim the church as a house of prayer with a passion for lost people (Mt. 21:13, Lk19:10)

3. To link believers in focused prayer for evangelism and awakening (Matt 18:18-20; 2 Chronicles 7:14)

Cooperation

To accomplish our vision by cooperating with churches, associations, state conventions, and Southern Baptist entities in the development of contextual approaches for prayer and renewal strategies, methods, and materials. We work closely with the Inter-Entity Prayer Team.
