ON MISSION PRAYER MAP/CALENDAR
"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ"
(Col.4:2-3, NIV).

WHAT? This prayer map/calendar is designed to encourage you and your small group to pray regularly for missionaries, our continent, and for the work that Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) entities are doing. You may personalize it to your situation and location.

HOW? Notice the ratio of missionaries to population in each state/province, then pray for more missionaries. Information about the missionaries and prayer requests can be obtained by visiting Prayergram. For the Daily Prayer page, [click here]. For general prayer instruction or information, visit Prayer Evangelism. For daily North American missions prayer requests, call toll free, 1 800 554-PRAY (7729). You may also call the telephone number or visit the Web site listed under a state name. Ask for lists of missionaries, SBC key leaders, and elected officials for that state. Decide how many lists you plan to pray though. Each time you pray, pray for a few of the names on a list and use a highlighter or other sign to know where to begin the next time.

WHY? The souls of countless millions of lost people (the harvest) are at stake. The man or woman at home who prays often has as much to do with the effectiveness of the missionary on the field, and consequently with the results of his or her labors, as the missionary. Let's join our missionaries through prayer. "As you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many" (2 Cor. 1:11, NIV).

WHERE? There are many places to use copies of the map as a prayer guide. At your church, hang a map/calendar in each small group room where Sunday or weekday Bible studies and mission groups meet. Put one in your prayer room and use one as a prayer guide in your own personal prayer time. Additional cocmplimentary copies may be obtained, while supplies last, by calling 1 866 407-6262 or go to www.nambstore.com..

WHO? This map is for all ages. Use it with adults in Sunday School, Bible study, prayer groups, and mission groups like WMU to draw attention to the opportunity to pray for specific needs of our missionaries. Use it with children in RA's, GA's and children's church. Help to mobilize people in your church to pray for missions. Praise God for the privilege to work with Him through your prayers.

WHEN? "Pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thess. 5:17-18). Pray often and regularly, alone and in small groups.
