It's Christmas . . . in August!
That's right—Christmas in August! It is an annual mission project coordinated by Woman's Missionary Union (WMU). You are the gift-givers, and North American missionaries are the gift-receivers. Actually, the missionaries pass along these gifts through their ministries, so many, many, many people benefit and hear about Christ in the process.
