• Student Missionary Opportunities

    The North American Mission Board celebrates the calling-out of those whom God is sending across the United States and Canada. With a vision to see as many people as possible come to faith in Christ, the following are opportunities for students to help Southern Baptists accomplish the Great Commission through evangelism that leads to new churches—including some of the most under-reached and underserved areas in North America.

    Missionary - Student  Student Missionary - Mobilize Me

    The deadline to submit an application to serve this summer is March 31, 2015.  

    A student missionary is a high school, college, or graduate student who serves a minimum of 8 weeks to assist local churches as they seek to accomplish the Great Commission through evangelism and church planting. These young men and women serve on the front lines of missions, participating in experiences designed to help students develop for a lifetime of missionary service.

    Qualifications for a Student Missionary 

    • Be a committed and maturing Christian and have a desire for missionary development
    • Be willing to verbally share the gospel with others
    • Be an active member of an SBC church and affirm the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
    • Be available to serve the entire length of the project
    • If you are in high school, be at least 16 and have completed your junior year of high school
    • If you are 22 years of age or older you, must be in college or graduate school, be either currently enrolled in courses, plan to be enrolled in courses within 6 months, or have not been out of school for longer than 6 months
    • Investment of 25 hours per week

    Generation Send is designed to be one of the most exciting, intense and unique student missionary experiences in North America. It will immerse young adults in an urban context to gain a practical knowledge of the realities of missions and leadership. Participants will spend their time learning to live their Life on Mission under the guidance of urban ministry leaders. Along with reinforcing gospel foundations and simple missiological practices, the intention of GenSend is to be an extension of the local church’s church planting and mission efforts.
