Pray

At the center of every great evangelistic movement is prayer. North America needs the gospel. Your prayers make a difference.

This Week's Prayer Requests

This year has been a very difficult and challenging one for us as a church and for me personally as a church planter. We had a couple of things take place in our church and community that hit us hard prior to the coronavirus. Everything going into shutdown and quarantine mode just added to an already difficult start to the year. We ask that you join us in praying for wisdom as we make plans post coronavirus on engaging with our community, equipping everyone to live as missionaries and expressions of gathering in person again.

I Prayed

Please be praying that our church leaders will have wisdom from the Holy Spirit as they make decisions about how to navigate the new normal after the coronavirus pandemic passes. Through this season we have encouraged our congregation to press in deeper than ever before in their personal daily time with Jesus. We are praying that our church emerges spiritually stronger than ever before and that those habits of spending time daily with Jesus continue to thrive even as we transition to a new normal.

Back in September 2019, I learned cancer had returned in my left ureter. I endured chemo treatments for four months, which finished January 6, 2020. I had surgery to remove my left kidney, ureter and part of my bladder February 6, 2020. I ended up back in the hospital due to a partially collapsed lung and then again for fluid around my heart. This forced me into retirement. I am at home still pastoring part time, but dealing with the side effects of chemo treatments and major surgery. The neuropathy is terrible. Please pray for healing and provision.

Please continue to pray that the Lord will bless the preaching of His Word, the conversion of souls, workers for the harvest and partners for this ministry.

We serve as the directors of Hands UP Outreach (CWJC & CMJC). We are “Reaching UP” with the Word of God and “Reaching Out” into our communities with job and life skills training, GED tutoring, ESL, Bible study and mentoring. We are also inside jails and prisons teaching life skills and God’s Word. We are praising the Lord for the newly completed Richland Grace Center buildings. We had 114 students in our spring semester and many lives were changed. Their prayer requests are to have wisdom for reopening ministry sites after coronavirus. This includes safety with new GED students, volunteers, tutors and mentors. Pray for the reopening of our ministries in our jail and prisons. Pray for good physical health for us as directors of this ministry. Pray for our fall term.

Many people and events have been affected during the COVID-19 crisis. The theater ministry that I administrate was all set to perform five sold-out shows of Willy Wonka, Jr., on March 12, and we had to postpone. We are still in the process of finding a time to be able to perform. Please pray for the kids, teens and families related to this ministry as we come back. Pray for our evangelistic outreach to those to whom we minister.

Hello, fellow saints. My family and I request prayer for our upcoming summer change of duty station to Grafenwoehr, Germany. We have been assigned to part of the 173rd Airborne. Please pray for the paratroopers and their families whom God is calling us to serve and minister to at this time. Thank you and God bless you all!

I Prayed

My wife, Peggy, has been diagnosed with stage four myeloma cancer and started her treatment on Monday, June 22. Please pray that the treatment will be effective and that she will have minimal side effects. Pray for me as a caregiver. Pray also that we would experience God’s peace and presence and that He will be glorified through this challenge.

We are praying for more families to join Relationships Indian Community Church. We currently have seven to 10 families, and we are asking God for about 15 more families to join us this year. By the grace of God, we have had 42 conversions in two years. We are asking God for 100 in 2020. Please pray for my wife as she works full time and for me as a bivocational pastor. Also please pray for our 8-year-old son. We pray that God will bring us out of this coronavirus pandemic and give us a new vigor and zeal for lost people.

I Prayed

Please pray for my mother-in-law, Thelma Nutter. She just turned 81 and has developed MRSA. This is very concerning. Also, please pray for our congregation as we seek to serve the Jewish community here in Alaska.

Our agency has adopted new software for our clinicians. It is a business-based program that we as staff have to format ourselves so that clinicians can properly record clinical visits. Our launch date is July 1, 2020. This program is very tough and confusing for the untrained. Please pray for us as we transition to this new way of doing things. Thank you for your prayer support, brothers and sisters.

I have filed for permanent disability from my full-time job. Due to the coronavirus, the process is going to take a while. We are praying the Lord allows the application to be processed in a timely manner. I am continuing to plant Abundant Life Church, but without being able to meet in person things have been more difficult. Please pray for Abundant Life Church and that my disability application is approved quickly.

The Craven family will be moving from Germany this summer to Fort Drum, N.Y. We pray that our spirits and words will bring life to the soldiers and families stationed alongside us there. Pray our chapels, neighborhoods and dinner-table conversations are filled with Christ-glorifying words.

I have been working with a local nonprofit to shelter homeless people in place by placing them in local hotels. This was done through a grant the nonprofit had. My role in this was providing two meals a day for them. I did this through the generous support of partners. We are now working through a grant called Rapid Housing. I tell you this to say that for seven weeks I served them seven days a week. I’m tired. I am taking the week of June 21–27 to go away and rest. I need to rest in the Lord, reconnect with Him and pray and fast. I ask you pray for me during this time. Pray that my time with the Lord will be a sweet time. I look forward to sitting by a lake, walking in the woods and digging into His Word. I will be seeking direction, discernment and wisdom. Thank you in advance.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been out of the school where we normally gather for our services. We were just informed that we will not be allowed back in the school until at least September (if ever). Will you pray for a new space for us? Please pray for a space in which we can grow that also has more space for our KidZone ministry. Pray that God will open doors for us to continue to grow and expand. Thanks for your prayers!
