Send: Bible Studies for Releasing the Church

Why I am alive?

Given enough time, all of us have probably asked this question about our lives. We have an intuitive sense that we were made for more than going to school, working or jobs, or indulging in a little college football or Netflix. The preacher in the book of Ecclesiastes notes that God “has also put eternity in their hearts (Ecc 3:11, HCSB). As a result, we long to give our lives away to something bigger than ourselves. We want to be a part of something eternal.

By God’s grace, we are not left to stumble in the dark, attempting to find a purpose that will satisfy this longing. The supreme God of the universe invites us to be a part of a mission–His mission: displaying His fame to the ends of the earth. The prophet Habakkuk writes that there is a day coming when “the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the LORD’s glory as the waters cover the sea” (Hab 2:14). This is God’s mission–that everyone, everywhere would know the glory of God and bow in worship.

This book, written by Matt Rogers, is meant to provide a journey through the Bible to discover God's mission for all people. Written as six Bible studies, Releasing the Church is an ideal tool for one-on-one discipleship or small group studies with those seeking to give their lives away for God's mission in the world.
