Sermons to a young pastor

Timothy, my true son in the faith. — The Apostle Paul

One of the gracious gifts God provides to young pastors are those who could be called our “fathers” in the faith. Men who by their influence and commitment provide encouragement, counsel, and challenge to young pastors serving the local church.

Paul’s two letters to Timothy are a treasure for younger pastors. Writing to the young pastor, the apostle instructs and exhorts his son in the faith about matters like courage, fear, handling conflict, dealing with heretical teaching and doctrinal debates, appropriate relationships within the church, and qualifications for leaders.

These letters are focused on helping a young pastor lead the church to health and vitality.

Mark Clifton, Senior Director of Replant, is teaching through the books of 1 and 2 Timothy. Let this sermon series encourage and shape your work as you replant and revitalize!
