Where Are They Now?

They all have a story. Here’s what happened in the lives and ministries of three North American missionaries after they were featured as part of the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering Week of Prayer.

Jonathan and Rebeca Santiago and family

Jorge Santiago and his wife, Rebeca, were Annie Armstrong featured missionaries in 2019. Jorge is a church planter in Puerto Rico.

“There’s something about church planting that can bring a sense of loneliness. But when we got thousands of messages from people, and then when we saw how people gave to Annie, we were reminded that we are not alone. It was amazing. Our church has grown so much since then, and all the progress we’ve made goes back to how God used people’s prayers and gifts to advance His kingdom in Puerto Rico.”

Matt and Ruth Lahey

Matt Lahey and his wife, Ruth, were Annie Armstrong featured missionaries in 2023. Matt is a church planter in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada.

“The ways we saw the Lord answer prayers took me by surprise. Because of Annie Armstrong, our little church plant was able to move into a new, permanent home. Now, we have a place we can gather and not worry about losing it. And now, we can show people how the Lord used the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering to see His kingdom come and His will be done.”

Michael and Traci Byrd

Michael Byrd and his wife, Traci, were Annie Armstrong featured missionaries in 2022. Michael is a church planter in St. Louis, and Traci is a missionary with Send Relief.

“Knowing there are people all over who share your vision and heart—it’s the most encouraging thing I’ve ever experienced. Now, we’re getting ready to send out another planter to another unchurched community. We have yet another future planter who’s in the pipeline, and we have 12 people we’re about to baptize. That’s what prayer does. That’s what giving to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering does. It shows us that we’re all in this work together.”
