PRAISE REPORT: Planter Michael Cooper and ValleyLight Church (West Valley, Utah) just celebrated 12 baptisms!

The road to Jordanelle State Park led somewhere unexpected.

On July 19th, ValleyLight Church gathered for a lake day after service — fellowship, sun, and water. Nobody expected it to become a baptism service.

It started with one man.

During church announcements, he stood up and said something simple: he wanted to be baptized in living water — not a tank, but water that moves. That was the spark. A handful of new believers heard him say it out loud, and something shifted in them too. One by one, they raised their hands to join him, and by the time they reached the lake, 12 adults were ready to be baptized.

12 adults. One lake. One man`s willingness to say what he wanted out loud — and a church that was ready to follow him into the water. This is what happens when a church plant doesn`t just preach the gospel, but creates room for people to respond to it in real time. 🙌

Most churches don`t have an evangelism problem. They have a culture problem.

If sharing Jesus feels rare, it probably isn`t because people don`t care. It`s because they haven`t been equipped, encouraged, or challenged to make it a natural part of everyday life.

An evangelistic church isn`t built overnight—it grows through intentional leadership.

Here are four steps that can help:

🔍 Examine
Take an honest look at where your church is today. Healthy change starts with honest evaluation.

❤️ Embrace
Fall in love with the people God has called you to reach. When your heart breaks for your community, your mission becomes personal.

🤝 Engage
Don`t wait for people to come to church. Go where they are, build relationships, and look for opportunities to share the hope of Jesus.

🎉 Encourage
Celebrate every gospel conversation, every invitation, and every story of life change. What gets celebrated becomes part of your culture.

A church doesn`t become evangelistic because it says it values evangelism. It becomes evangelistic because its people live on mission every day.

4️⃣ Teach them to slow down and actually see people
5️⃣ Create real chances to practice, not just talk about it
6️⃣ Lead with clarity - vague encouragement isn’t enough

Students don’t need more information. They need clarity, practice, and confidence.

Thousands of gospel cards were handed out to World Cup fans in Seattle this week. Here’s what happened.

The streets were packed with jerseys from 48 nations. And right in the middle of it - a team of churches, handing one little card to every person who walked by.

Not a ticket. Not a flyer. A name.

Hope has a name. His name is Jesus!

Pastor Edwardo from New Hope Church in Creswell, Oregon, drove his people to Seattle for this. Churches from the Northwest Baptist Convention and the Hawaii Baptist Convention showed up together. And thousands of people left with something they didn’t have before.
