Every year, NAMB invites church planting missionaries from around North America to be a part of the SBC annual meeting. While there, they receive training, but the main purpose is to help them meet and connect with their Southern Baptist family and to gain a vision for and an appreciation of the broader SBC. Typically, NAMB helps planters with hotel and meal expenses while individual planters are expected to pay for the cost of their travel to and from the event. Despite what has been reported in some circles, NAMB never tells anyone how to vote in SBC business sessions. For further reading on this topic, see this article.
