The Oglala Lakota people who live on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota refer to summertime as “White Van Season.” They say it’s the time of year when church groups come, do ministry and then leave. They’re committed to be here ”for as long as it takes” to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the Lakota people and share the gospel with what is essentially an unreached people group right in the center of North America.
