Timothy+Barnabas Institute

Grow as a Pastor and Leader

The Church is facing a leadership shortage as the number of pastors serving in evangelical churches is diminishing. Who will take their place?

Through the Timothy+Barnabas Institute, we’re here to help engage, encourage and resource young pastors to lead well and finish well.

The institute, a two-year program for pastoral and leadership development, pairs a small cohort of pastors with a more experienced pastor as a coach. Those in the cohort also have access to content from some of the top pastors in the country.

Entry into the program is in January of each year, but applications are accepted year-round.

The Institute is a comprehensive training program. We help you become the best leader you can be.

Four In-Person Workshops

The Timothy+Barnabas Institute will host four in-person two-day workshops at the North American Mission Board. The workshops will consist of keynote addresses on the ministry topic of the workshop from some of the top pastors in the country as well as breakout sessions with your coach and cohort to flesh out the material in your own ministries. Workshop topics include organizational leadership, strategic planning, team building, transition plans, the pastor’s marriage and family, finishing well, personal evangelism, church health and growth, changing culture, restorative justice and being on mission.

Monthly Coaching Calls

In the months between the in-person workshops, cohorts will participate in a monthly conference call with their coach to continue to develop. Pastors will also have access to their coach to get counsel as issues arise in their ministry.
