Church Planter Resources

North America needs church planters — men who are called by God to join Him in beginning a new disciple-making work that builds biblical community. For those interested in church planting who are seeking more experience, North American Mission Board also offers internships and apprenticeships as gateway opportunities. Find out how to get involved in this vital ministry.

Church Planter

As a church planter we want to help you in your role as visionary and chief discipler for your church. To help you do that, NAMB has established the Send Network, complete with the most relevant blog and library of resources for church planters in North America.

Church Planter Care

The Planter and Spouse Care Ministry at NAMB is unique. The entire team is dedicated to supporting and assisting church planters and their spouses as they begin their journey. Through prayer, encouragement, timely support and demonstrated care, the ministry reinforces that church planters are not alone. If you are a new church planter, less than five years in your church plant, discover how the ministry can help you.

NAMB has specific training to help you if you are planting in an urban environment, a city center or any setting to which God has called you, even the replanting of a dying church. Training is available through Multiply, BLVD, Replant and coaching elements support all of the training tracks.

Apprenticeships & Internships

An apprentice will work on developing competencies and skills to best prepare him for engaging the context he will be in with the intent of planting a new, healthy, evangelistic and reproducing Southern Baptist Church within one year.

Church planting interns (both men & women) spend up to one year in a Sending Church to develop gospel foundations, mission practices and church planting competencies with a goal to plant or help plant a church. Through this 12-month process a church planting intern will discover his or her future role in church planting.
