I am serving far from home in New Hampshire. It has been hard being away from my 94-year-old mother who has dementia and is declining in both remembrance and physical health. Please pray I will have peace during this time away. I am planning a short visit home in February to visit her. Pray our visit will be a special time of connection.
Our church plant launches January 29, 2023. Please pray we will be evangelistically effective and will be a healthy church family for generations to come!
Please pray for our community group as it relaunches after the holidays. We have now been having services for one year! Please continue to pray for us as we enter into our second year as a church. We are hoping to start an English as a Second Language (ESL) program as New York City has had an influx of asylum seekers. We are praying through the best way to serve them. Please pray with us as we host an ESL training and more classes in the future.
We lost our 23-year-old son, Kaeden, on Sunday morning, December 11, 2022. It was sudden, tragic and unexpected. Please pray for our ongoing healing through this season of grief. Pray God would continue to comfort us and use our son’s witness to draw people to the Cross through this tragedy. Our surviving children need prayer as well. Ask God to comfort them in the loss of their big brother.
Please continue to pray for Cindy (my wife) and myself. I have been out of work since December 2, 2022, due to complications from a massive kidney stone and bladder cancer. I am facing the very distinct possibility of three surgeries in the future. Please pray that Cindy and I remain faithful to our God, that He will promote healing in my body and that I will heal well and avoid the additional surgeries or be able to handle the the surgeries and recover well to God’s glory. I am most thankful for Cindy, and I desire to return to the ministry.
January 25–February 1, I will be leading a team of seven women to Costa Rica. We will host a women’s conference and children’s event for Bribri women who have been rescued from perpetual sexual assault. Please pray for us as we minister and for those to whom we are ministering.
Please pray for our 15-year-old daughter, Lily, who is in her third year of battling inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). She is growing weary. We have been to countless doctors and had countless infusions, but nothing seems to be working. The surgeons are now discussing the removal of her colon. We have prayed and prayed and prayed for a breakthrough. We need healing without surgery. Please pray God would completely heal Lily of this awful disease that has impacted all aspects of her life.
A recently divorced, middle-aged woman named Elizabeth has been denied custody of her daughter. The daughter is inappropriately involved with her ex-husband. Elizabeth also recently lost her only sibling to a sudden premature heart attack. Please pray God’s loving hand of comfort for Elizabeth as she is distraught. Pray also that God will intervene on behalf of her daughter.
I am on my first vacation, and our core team is leading the church by themselves for the first time. Pray the Lord blesses and uses each one of them and that the Spirit of God keeps moving.
Please pray for a family member of a lady (Maria) who has been faithfully supporting the work here in Daingerfield. Her brother-in-law, Martin, is in critical condition in Truett Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Also, please add el Faro Church (the Lighthouse) to your prayer list. May we continue to be a beacon in the lives of many. Thank you, Pastor Javi.
Please pray for me as I lead a training tomorrow (January 19). Pray as I continue to work in a chaplaincy position that has me doing many things outside my comfort zone and that are challenging for me!
My daughter will be having surgery for breast cancer on Monday, January 23. She will be having a bilateral mastectomy, and her ovaries will be removed. Pray God would strengthen her husband, that the surgery would be successful and her recovery swift.
I have been meeting with a student named Autumn, and we have been going through a booklet that explains the gospel over a period of four weeks. On Friday, January 20, we will be talking through the response portion, where she will decide to either accept or refuse the gift of Jesus. Please pray that God would save her! Also, our discipleship ministry will begin nine weekly Bible studies on Ephesians next week. Please pray for the 100+ students who will be participating in the Bible study. Pray that God’s Word would change the hearts and lives of students!
Please pray God will provide a proper place of worship around Clarkston for Peniel International Ethiopian Evangelical Church.
Pray God will send us people who are thirsty for Jesus. Pray God will speed up the green card process. It is taking too long. Pray we can find a house in which to live where the rent is affordable or that someone will buy the house where we live now and allow us to continue living here. Pray also that God will send us more ministry partners.
We are earnestly praying that God would reveal to us our church’s permanent home at some point in 2023. We have been portable now for five years, and we are trusting that 2023 will be the year God delivers to us that permanent Sunday home!
Please pray members of our community will see God’s hand at work and that we will follow along in this new segment of our calling.
Pray the Lord will guide us as we make plans to plant another church this year.
We are praying God will show us where He is working in this season. We want to adjust our efforts to join Him. We would like to pray that God will draw many people in Laveen, Ariz., to himself. We are also praying that God will bless us with a building of our own. We are currently navigating an Abraham and Lot situation.
Church Renewal Weekends are the one thing pastors are really calling about. Nothing can bring fellowship and unity to a congregation like a Church Renewal Weekend where we eat together, worship and hear testimonies of what God is doing. After two years of being apart, these weekends truly help a church focus and come back together. As we conduct these special weekends, please pray for our volunteers, especially those who work with the children. Pray God will provide the funds and resources these volunteers need to minister to churches in need. Pray that we, as the leaders in North Carolina, will have wisdom to lead and train.
