General Endorsement Information

Important Endorser Updates for SBC Chaplains

  1. You Need a Separate Endorsement for Each Chaplain Role

If you serve in more than one chaplain position or are part of different organizations, you need a separate SBC endorsement for each one. SBC endorsements are not one-size-fits-all—each role has its own rules. If anything changes—like your job, church, or certification—please contact the SBC Chaplaincy office to update your endorsement. Keeping your info current helps us support you better and keeps you in good standing.

  1. New Annual Profile Check Starts Fall 2025

Starting in Fall 2025, all chaplains will need to review and update their contact information once a year. This helps us stay in touch and provide the latest resources and updates. You’ll be able to do this easily through a secure online portal. Just check your “Basic Information” and “Public Profile” sections. If you don’t complete the yearly update, your endorsement could be suspended—so don’t skip it! More details will be shared soon.

  1. Share Your Chaplain Story

We want to celebrate the amazing work you’re doing! Send us photos of you in action, along with 2–3 sentences about what’s happening in the picture. We’ll ask for your permission before sharing anything.

  1. Keep Your Church in the Loop

Your church is your main spiritual support network. Share a pdf of your Quarterly Report with your pastor or church leaders. It’s a great way to show what God is doing through your ministry and to invite others to pray for you. It also helps your church see chaplaincy as a mission opportunity for others.

  1. Every Chaplain is a Recruiter

Look for chances to tell others about chaplaincy. Encourage people to text “Chaplaincy” to 888-123 to learn more about becoming an SBC chaplain.*
