What You Need to Know About God {in this very moment}

I had a little self-talk after getting up from my face and knees bent to the floor. This self-talk had everything to do with me continuing my ministry here and nothing to do with my outfit for the day. If you’ve done ministry for even a month, you know as well as I do that if we’re burnt out and using our own fuel, our work is worthless.

“I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the LORD sustained me.” (Psalm 3:5)

It’s not a far stretch to say lots of us are in a place where it’s quite literally minute by minute of needing God’s power and strength to make it through the next few hours and this day.

So in this moment, whether you’re in car-line or waiting to check out at the store or using the bathroom (please no!) or on your lunch break, you need to know this about God:

You can take refuge in His presence (Psalm 2:12). It’s a safe place to curl up and take shelter.

He will hear your cry (Psalm 3:4). Out loud or with tears, He can handle it all!

His joy can be claimed (Psalm 4:7). Oh that He will restore to us the joy of our salvation!

The Bible is God’s Word (Psalm 1:2). Read it. It is your guide in every direction for every step.

You can claim His favor over your life (Psalm 5:12). Simply ask Him to bless the work you are doing for Him.

God is faithful (Psalm 9:1). Remember what He has done for you. Write it. Speak it. Pray it.

You are not alone (Psalm 9:10). It feels lonely, but feelings lie. The Mighty One is near.

He sees you (Psalm 10:14; 11:4). Right where you are just as you are.

He equips you (Psalm 18:39). You have what it takes in Christ.

He delights in you (Psalm 18:19). He smiles at you.

He is your shield (Psalm 18:30). He is before you and behind you and beside you.

He prepares you (Psalm 18:34). Yes, even for that!

He gives light in your darkness (Psalm 18:28). He is capable of pushing back the darkness and setting us free and those around us free.

You can be hidden in Him (Psalm 17:8). Find rest in Him and let Him be seen in your words and deeds.

So, friend, know you are loved. Do not buy into the lies that you are isolated and unfit for the call upon you. Do not let fear hold you back or the unknown keep you from pursuing all Christ has for you. Our God is with us and sustains us moment by moment. He is all we need. And know you are surrounded by women here who are holding you up and cheering you on.

In this very moment, what truths from God give you the courage to carry on?
