The North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, Inc. (“NAMB,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) offers an SMS messaging program to provide you with ministry-related updates and other information. By opting in to receive SMS messages from NAMB, you enter a binding agreement with NAMB and agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms supplement our Privacy Policy, available at www.namb.net/privacy-policy.

  1. Program Description
If you consent to receive SMS from NAMB, you agree to receive informational text messages from us, including but not limited to ministry updates, donation confirmations, event notifications, and prayer requests, consistent with the purpose for which you opted in. Messaging frequency may vary depending on your interactions with NAMB and the nature of our ministry activities.
  2. Opt-In Process
To participate, you must provide prior consent by submitting your phone number through a web form, donation process, or other opt-in mechanism on the NAMB Services (as defined in NAMB Privacy Policy).
  3. Opt-Out Process
You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying “STOP” to any message you receive from us.
  4. Support
For assistance with the SMS program, reply “HELP” to any message or visit our website at https://www.namb.net/.
  5. Costs
Message and data rates may apply to SMS messages you send or receive from NAMB, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. NAMB does not charge a fee for this service, but you are responsible for any carrier fees associated with sending or receiving text messages.
  6. Privacy and Data Use
Your phone number and SMS consent will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. We may share your phone number with trusted service providers who assist us in delivering SMS messages, subject to strict confidentiality obligations.
  7. Eligibility
The SMS program is available to individuals who provide a valid U.S. mobile phone number and are at least 16 years of age. NAMB does not knowingly collect phone numbers from children under 16 for SMS purposes.
  8. Changes to the Program
NAMB reserves the right to modify or discontinue the SMS program at any time, with or without notice. Any changes to these terms will be reflected in an updated version posted on our website, and we may notify you via SMS of significant updates.
  9. Carrier Limitations
SMS delivery is subject to your mobile carrier’s capabilities and network availability. NAMB is not liable for delays, failures, or undelivered messages due to carrier issues or other factors beyond our control.
  10. Compliance with Laws
You agree to comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations in connection with your use of the SMS program.
  11. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL NAMB BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SMS MESSAGING PROGRAM.
  12. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising out of or related to these terms or the NAMB SMS messaging program shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered in accordance with the rules of American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall be conducted by a single arbitrator and shall take place in Atlanta, Georgia. The arbitrator’s decision shall be final and binding, and judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.
  13. Duty to Notify
You represent that you are the account holder for the mobile telephone number(s) that you used to subscribe to the NAMB SMS messaging program. You are responsible for completing the opt-out process if you change, transfer, or intend to stop using the mobile telephone number used to subscribe to the program.
  14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless NAMB and its subsidiaries and affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all third-party claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to (i) your failure to complete the opt-out process if you change, transfer, or intend to stop using your telephone number, (ii) your violation of these terms, or (iii) your use of the NAMB SMS messaging program.
